REMEMBER!
To leave the Programming
Mode at any time, press the
Esc
key. Doing so will
return the CP-220A to its
normal operating mode.
Programming changes will
be stored automatically.
NOTE: See
PARAMETER 11
(on page 2-79) for information on
ASCII
coding and the
ASCII Character Set.
In terms of the
Automation System
and the CP-220A, a [NAK] will be sent
back to the receiver by the computer if it (the computer) was unable to
process the data it received. There are many reasons why this may occur.
Usually it is caused by a character string whose format is not recognized by
the computer. Once a [NAK] is received by the CP-220A, it will repeat the
data transfer up to 10 times, until an [ACK] is received. If an [ACK] is not
received by the CP-220A after 10 tries, the receiver will display a
[COMPUTER FAIL].
NOTE: This aspect of the system's operation is not programmable.
Programming Procedures:
When
PARAMETER 17
is entered, [NAK 00] will be displayed, indicating
(via the use of [00]) that the [NAK] feature has been factory disabled – the
default arrangement (in which it is assumed that an
Automation System
is
not
in use). If there
is
an
Automation System,
any
ASCII
value between [01]
and [FF] may be programmed to represent the [NAK], although the
ASCII
[15] character is normally used to convey the
Negative ACKnowledgement
character.
NOTE: Whatever ASCII character is used to provide the [NAK] must be
the same for both the CP-220A and the
Automation System.
In any case, the first of the two digits will be flashing; to change the
character, use the
NEXT
key or the
MANUAL/PREVIOUS
key, as required.
Once this is done, use the
key to move to the second digit. As before,
use either the
NEXT
key or the
MANUAL/PREVIOUS
key to change it, if
necessary. Subsequent movement between the two digits can be
accomplished through the use of the
key or the
key.
Default
:
PARAMETER 17's
default disables the
Negative ACKnowledgement
[NAK]
character through the use of
ASCII
[00].
Advancing to Next Parameter:
After programming
PARAMETER 17,
press the
N
key to advance to
PARAMETER 18
– the next parameter in
Category C
.
The CP-220A displays the parameter just programmed ([PARAMETER
NUMBER 17]) with its first digit flashing, indicating its request for the
next parameter number. Press either:
•
1
then
8
, or
• then
key and
8
, or
• the
key
NOTE: When the
is used, the
name
of the next parameter appears
immediately – not its
number.
