4 INSTALLATION

4.1 Installation

Remote I/O cables can be connected to two communications lines (RI/O-1 and RI/O-2). Each
line can connect up to 12 I/O units (a total of 24 I/O units with the two lines).

•

Make sure that the distance between the CPU unit and the I/O unit at the far end is within
300 m.

•

Three types of remote I/O cables are available for long distances (300 m or less), middle
distances (200 m or less), and short distances (100 m or less). Select the most suitable cable
according to the total length between hardware units.

•

Use the same type of cables on the same communications line. Do not use different types of
cables. Otherwise, normal operation is not guaranteed.

•

Set a different station number for each station.
