DISASSEMBLING FLYWHEEL ASSEMBLY

REMOVING THE RING GEAR
(1)
Use the burner to heat the periphery of a ring gear to approxi-
mately 20
C {68
F}.
! CAUTION
Do not touch with bare hands while the ring gear and flywheel are
hot.
(2)
Use the brass bar and a hammer to tap the periphery around the
ring gear to remove the ring gear from the flywheel.
! CAUTION
Do not touch with bare hands while the ring gear and flywheel are
hot.

MOUNTING THE RING GEAR
(1)
Use the burner to heat the periphery of a ring gear to approxi-
mately 200
C {392
F}.
! CAUTION
Do not touch with bare hands while the ring gear and flywheel are
hot.
(2)
Quickly mount the ring gear to the flywheel with a chamfered face
positioned to face the flywheel.
! CAUTION
Do not touch with bare hands while the ring gear and flywheel are
hot.
