4.1.1 Network Diagnostic Tools
I. ping
Use the
ping
command to test network connectivity and reachability of a host.
Perform the following command in any view.

The output of the
ping
command includes:
z
Information on the response packet to each ping message: data bytes, packet
sequence number, TTL, and the roundtrip time. If no response is received upon
timeout, “Request time out” is displayed.
z
The statistics, including number of the transmitted packets, number of received
packets, packet loss ratio, and minimum, average and maximum roundtrip times.
For example:
<XE> ping 202.38.160.244
ping 202.38.160.244 : 56 data bytes, press CTRL_C to break
Reply from 202.38.160.244 : bytes=56 sequence=1 ttl=255 time = 1ms
Reply from 202.38.160.244 : bytes=56 sequence=2 ttl=255 time = 2ms
Reply from 202.38.160.244 : bytes=56 sequence=3 ttl=255 time = 1ms
Reply from 202.38.160.244 : bytes=56 sequence=4 ttl=255 time = 3ms
Reply from 202.38.160.244 : bytes=56 sequence=5 ttl=255 time = 2ms
