Removing the BlackDiamond 10K Series Fan Tray
BlackDiamond 10K series fan trays are hot-swappable. You do not need to turn off power to the
BlackDiamond 10K series switch to remove a fan tray.
You need the following tools and equipment to remove a fan tray:
●
ESD-preventive wrist strap
●
# 1 Phillips screwdriver
WARNING!
Service to all equipment should be performed by
trained and qualified service personnel only!
Before installing or
removing any components of the system, or before carrying out any maintenance procedures, you must read the
safety information provided in
Appendix A
of this guide.
To remove the fan tray from the BlackDiamond 10K series switch:
1
Attach the ESD-preventive wrist strap, that is provided, to your wrist and connect the metal end of
the ESD-preventive wrist strap to the ground receptacle that is located on the top-right corner of the
switch front panel.
2
Unscrew the two captive screws that secure the fan tray to the chassis by turning them
counterclockwise (to the left).
3
Use the finger grips to pull the fan tray out of the chassis approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm); this step
disconnects the power and causes the fans to stop rotating.
