9-41 Troubleshooting Printer Problems
Troubleshooting Blank Bands on the Page
One or more blank lines of varying width in the direction of the paper
feed.
Follow this check list to troubleshoot this image defect. After each
action try a test page to see if you solved your problem.
n
Check consumables to see if they have reached end of life. If so,
then replace them. See chapter 2,“Consumables,” for information.
n
Print 10 pages for a test.
n
Clean the precharger. See chapter 2, “Consumables,” for infor-
mation.
n
Clean the transfer charger. See chapter 2, “Consumables,” for
information.
n
Clean all of the paper feed paths in the printer, around the drum
and the developer unit.
n
Print 1 test page.
n
Replace the cleaning roller on the fuser.
n
Print 1 test page.
n
Replace the developer. See chapter 2,“Consumables,” for infor-
mation.
n
Print 1 test page.
n
Replace the drum unit. See chapter 2,“Consumables,” for infor-
mation.
n
Print 1 test page.
n
Replace the fuser. See chapter 2, “Consumables,” for informa-
tion.
