● Attaching or inserting images to
compose i-mode mail or Deco-mail
Attach/Insert a saved still image to i-mode mail/Deco-
mail/Blog mail.

Select any item:
Attach image …… Attach an image smaller than
240 dots wide × 320 dots high or 320 dots wide ×
240 dots high to i-mode mail. Select any of the
following items to attach an image larger than the
size described above:
Attach mail …… Attach an image without
changing the image size.
QVGA scale down …… Attach an image by
reducing it to 240 dots wide × 320 dots high, or
320 dots wide × 240 dots high, or smaller,
without changing the aspect ratio.
VGA scale down …… Attach an image by
reducing it to 640 dots wide × 480 dots high, or
480 dots wide × 640 dots high, or smaller,
without changing the aspect ratio.
Insert image
……
Insert an image smaller than 96
dots wide × 128 dots high or 128 dots wide × 96 dots
high and 90K bytes or smaller to Deco-mail. Select
any of the following items to insert an image larger
than the size described above:
Insert mail …… Insert an image by reducing it
to 90K bytes or smaller without changing the
image size. Even if reduced, an image larger
than 90K bytes cannot be selected.
SubQCIF scale down
……
Insert an image by
reducing it to 96 dots wide × 128 dots high, or
128 dots wide × 96 dots high, without changing
the aspect ratio. Change the file size if it is
larger than the maximum.

You can set images in the Inbox, Camera or user
created folder as the following screens:
• Stand-by display, Wake-up display
• Dialing/Calling, V.phone Dialing/Calling
• Mail sending/Mail receiving/Check new
messages/Mail rec’d result
• On hold*/Holding*/Substitute image*/Record
message*/Preparing*/Voice memo* for
videophone
*: Cannot be set depending on the image type.

You cannot set the following images:
• Image whose width or height is larger than
854 dots
• Image larger than 100K bytes (except for Stand-
by display and Wake-up display)

The display of GIF animations and SWF images
does not change even if you switch between
Normal and Full screen.

The following images cannot be added:
• Image whose width or height is larger than
854 dots
• Image larger than 100KB

You cannot add images other than JPEG or GIF.

You cannot edit the file names of the following
images:
• Pre-installed images
• Still images of Chara-den character with “Rec.
File Restriction”
• Images that are prohibited to be output from the
FOMA terminal

You cannot use single-byte spaces for file names.

• Images other than JPEG or GIF
• Still images of Chara-den character with “Rec.
File Restriction”
• Images downloaded from sites such as the
i-mode site and not edited yet
• Images restricted by FOMA card security
