The 1000BASE-T standard does not support forced mode. Auto-
negotiation should always be used to establish a connection over any
1000BASE-T port or trunk.
When auto-negotiation is enabled with the
command, the
switch will negotiate the best settings for a link based on the
capabilities
command. When auto-negotiation is disabled, you must
manually specify the link attributes with the
commands.

XAMPLE
The following example configures Ethernet port 5 capabilities to include
100half and 100full.
Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/5
Console(config-if)#capabilities 100half
Console(config-if)#capabilities 100full
Console(config-if)#capabilities flowcontrol
