E 012.05 I – FUEL PUMP PRESSURE TOO HIGH
Start with the first probable cause for fuel pump pressure too high listed in Table 8, perform the
check and take the suggested remedial action. If the problem persists, go to the next probable
cause, perform the check, etc., until troubleshooting is complete.
Probable Causes Check Remedial Action
H.P. fuel sensor not working. Fuel pressure with dialogue
unit/recorder or fault display via
flashing light. Refer to
DDEC
III/IV Single ECM Troubleshooting
(6SE497) and/or
DDEC Multi-ECM
Troubleshooting Guide (6SE496)
Replace sensor
H.P. fuel pump —quantity/pres-
sure regulator (actuating solenoid) Harsh engine running noise at
idling connector and wiring.
Suction valve Repair; replace if necessary

listed in Table 9, perform the check and take the suggested remedial action.
