Replacing the Front Brake Pads
It is not necessary to disassemble the
brake caliper and brake hose to replace
the brake pads.
1. Measure
Brake pad wear (a)
Brake pad wear limit:
1.5 mm (0.06 in)
2. Install
Before installing new brake pads it is
necessary to push the piston back into the
body of the caliper. This can be done by
opening the cap of the brake fluid
reservoir, installing a C-clamp of
appropriate size around the caliper and
squeezing the piston back into the caliper.
(Watch the brake fluid level in the
reservoir so you don’t overflow the
reservoir). After the pads have been
installed, be sure to fill the reservoir with
the proper brake fluid so that it is above
the minimum level.

poor pedal performance it may be
necessary to bleed the air out of the
brake system.
