Installation Methods
The Cisco ASR 1002-F Router is designed for a standalone, two-rail 19-inch rack-mount (front rail
only), or four-rail 19-inch rack-mount (front and rear rail).
Although rack-mounting is the preferred method of installation for the Cisco ASR 1002-F Router, you
can mount the chassis on an equipment shelf or tabletop.
Note
The Cisco ASR 1002-F Router usually ships fully loaded. However, you can remove components, such
as the power supplies, from the chassis to make the chassis lighter for your rack installation.
