Receiving Faxes
❏
F/T SWITCH ACTION
Not all fax machines are capable of sending a FAX TONE (the CNG
tone that warns the receiving fax machine that a fax is coming). For
those cases the unit may think that the call coming in is a voice call
and rings to alert you of the call (the amount of time it is going to
ring is determined by the F/T RING TIME setting above). If you do
not answer the call, one of two things can happen:
1.
If you set the F/T SW ACTION to RECEIVE, the unit will switch
to fax receive mode automatically at that point and start to
receive the document. If no document comes in, it disconnects
the call after approximately 35 seconds. The factory default
setting is RECEIVE.
2.
If you set the F/T SW ACTION to DISCONNECT, the unit will
disconnect the phone call immediately freeing up your phone
line at this point.
