CAUTION
(Continued)
If you must drive with the cargo
covers on and the tailgate and
midgate open or with the seal
between the body and the
midgate broken, make sure all
windows are closed and turn
the fan on to the highest speed
using any setting that brings in
outside air. Doing this will force
outside air into the vehicle.
Make sure that the air outlets
on or under the instrument
panel are fully open.
The midgate allows you to extend
the length of the vehicle’s cargo
area into the cab.
The following are the main
components of the midgate
system:
Latch Levers
Grab Handles
Glass-Catch Button
Glass Lock Knobs
Window Retaining Tabs
Midgate Release Handle
Window Alignment Arrows
Midgate Glass Removal
CAUTION
An improperly stored remov-
able rear glass could be thrown
about the vehicle during a colli-
sion or sudden maneuver. You
or others could be injured. If
you remove the rear glass,
always store it in the proper
storage location.
Do not remove the rear glass when
the rear window defogger is on
otherwise it may spark from the
latch area.
