THEFT DETERRENT
SYSTEM
Your vehicle is equipped with a
Theft Deterrent System.
To arm the system:
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the vehicle with the
remote keyless entry system or
the power door lock switch.
The security system light will
begin flashing to indicate that
the theft deterrent system is
arming.
3. Close all doors.
The Security System Light
will turn off after about
30 seconds.
When the light turns off, the
system is armed.
The system will not arm if you lock
the doors with a key or the manual
lock lever.
Note:
The theft deterrent system
does not have sensors for the
midgate and tailgate. If the
midgate and/or tailgate is open
or ajar when the system is
armed, vehicle contents may
not be protected by the system.
To disarm the system, you must
unlock the vehicle using the
keyless entry transmitter. If the
driver’s door is opened any other
way, the pre-alarm will activate.
The pre-alarm will sound for
10 seconds. The horn will chirp
and the lights will flash. Then the
full alarm will activate.
