Batteries
Batteries should always b e secured in the
battery trays provided with this boat. The trays
will contain any sp illed acid and will p rotect the
b attery terminals from damage or shorting due to
contact with metal ob ects. The batteries should
always b e secured using the retaining b rackets
p rovided while the b oat is underway, reducing the
p ossib ility of damage to the b atteries and other
eq uip ment in the storage area.
Never use an open ame in the battery storage
area. Avoid striking sp arks near the b atteries. A
battery can e plode i a ame or spark ignites
the free hydrogen gas vented during charging.
Always disconnect the b atteries b efore doing any
work on the 12 V DC electrical systems.
Always wear eye p rotection when servicing
b atteries. Batteries contain sulfuric acid, which
can cause serious injury. Avoid contact with skin,
eyes, and clothing. If contact occurs, immediately
ush the a ected area with water and call or
medical assistance.
