Line

The LINE MODE selection switch provides the options ISDN, X.21 and Distri-
bution only. The settings for SIGNALLING, AUTO ANSWER, LINE MODE and
CLOCK SOURCE as well as DATA RATE remain the same. The ISDN settings
PROTOCOL and DIAL MODE have been added:

– PROTOCOL: This can be used set either the German (1TR6) or the Euro-

pean (DSS-1) protocol. This setting is neither changed by FACTORY SET-
TINGS nor by loading a new configuration.

– DIAL MODE: This is used to set the dialling mode:

– SERIAL: In this setting, the channels are set up one after the other. This

is identical with the process used by the existing Titan with TAs.

– PARALLEL: Here, all numbers are dialled simultaneously. This dialling

method is thus faster. However, some called videoconference equip-
ment may not have the necessary functionality, leading to an abortion
of the dialling procedure.

The slide switch for controlling the 2-Mbit/s interface (E1/T1) is no longer pro-
vided. Fig. A14.6 shows the new Line Panel.

Front Display

Operation via the Front Display allows the most basic actions such as dialling,
disconnection and loading of configurations. All other settings should be made
using the PC software.
