The 25-pole TTL operator interface can be programmed for various applicati-
ons. Three different interface modes are available:
– Logic-level transfer mode
– Printer mode
– Command mode
In the logic-level transfer mode, the logic levels present at the local interface
are transmitted to the remote end. This can be used for the control of external
units at the remote end. The rising and falling edges of the signal are eva-
luated (change of signal level from “0” to “1” or from “1” to “0”).
In the printer mode, the interface is configured as a Centronics interface. The-
refore, a printer such as an Epson FX 80 can be connected for log printing wi-
thout the need for adaptation.
In the command mode, the TTL interface can be used to control the local co-
dec. Here also, the leading and trailing edges of the signal (change of signal
level from “0” to “1” and vice-versa) are evaluated.
