For example,
set interfaces eth0 10.113.130.110 mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.113.130.254
would be a complete entry, whereas just
set interfaces

would not be a complete entry.
4. At the [email protected]% prompt, type
commit
and press the
Enter
key. The
SMM-2 will log you off the system and when you log back on, the
[email protected] > prompt will reflect the new IPv4 address of the SMM-2.
Add SMM-2 to CORView’s Monitored Devices
After installing the RNDIS driver, you can add the SMM-2 and the modules reporting to the
SMM-2 to the devices that the
CORView Element Management Software
monitors. To do so,
proceed as follows.
1. Connect the computer running
CORView
to the SMM-2 (refer to Figure 7.5).
2. Click on the
Add
button in the lower left corner of the
CORView
window.
3. When the Add CHPMax5000 Device window appears (refer to Figure 5.28):
–
Type the IP address of the device in the
IP Address
field.
–
Type the port number of the port connection to the device in the
Port
field.
–
The software generates a unique designation for the device. The designation
appears in the
Device Name
field after you click in the window.
–
Type the read-access password of the device (“public” is the default
read-access password) in the
Read
Community String
field, and type the
write-access password of the device (“private” is the default write-access
password) in the
Write Community String
field. (These strings enables the
user to provide all operators with the read-only community string, but only
the write community string when the operator has to set any read-write values
on the CHP equipment.)
–
Select the desired timeout value from the
SNMP Timeout
pull-down menu.
–
Click the
Add To SNMP Target Table
check box to add or delete a check mark.
Adding a check mark adds the device to the SNMP trap destination table.
Deleting a check mark disables sending alarms to the client automatically.
–
If you decide not to add the device to the Device List/Tree View, click on the
Cancel
button. Otherwise, click on the
OK
button and the SMM-2 and its
associated modules will appear in
CORView
. Refer to the
CORView
user guides
(part number 1502588 for
CORView Enterprise
and 1506672 for
CORView Lite
)
for more detailed instructions concerning adding a device.
