Port Policing
This section provides an overview of QoS Ingress Port Policers for all switch ports The Port Policing is
useful in constraining traffic flows and marking frames above specific rates. Policing is primarily useful
for data flows and voice or video flows because voice and video usually maintain a steady rate of traffic.
To configure the QoS Port Policing via the web interface:
1. Navigate to
Configuration
>
QoS
>
Port Policing
.
2. Check the Mode checkbox to enable policing on a port. Set the rate in kbps, Mbps, fps, or kfps.
3. Click
Apply
or click
Reset
to cancel changes and revert to previously saved values.

Parameter
Description
Port
The logical port for the settings contained in the same row. Click on the port number in
order to configure the schedulers.
Mode
Check/uncheck to enable/disable port policing for the port.
Rate
To set the Rate limit value for this port
, the default is 500
.
Unit
Scroll to select the unit of rate - includes kbps, Mbps, fps and kfps. The default is kbps.
