Adjustments and Calibrations

Basic Rules for the TH Cleaning Procedure

•

The correct cleaning material:

Wet

cleaning:

Use a lint free cloth lightly moistened with isopropyl – alcohol or a

cleaning issue.

For the isopropyl – alcohol: Less water in the alcohol is better.

Water can damage the thermal head. We recommend using a 90%
isopropyl – alcohol.

Dry cleaning: Use the blue side of an ink eraser.

•

The cleaning actions:

Wet cleaning: The last cleaning action must be carried out in one way!

Dry

cleaning:

Dismount the thermal head before dry cleaning.

Make a linear cleaning movement, parallel to the resistor line.

Refer to Figure 21.

•

General: Do not push on the IC cover of the thermal head during cleaning.

IMPORTANT:

Instruct the customer, not to fill the input tray with dropped films or films coming from
jam clearances:

•

These re-inserted films can be contaminated with dust and fingerprints which
can result in image artifacts or a defective thermal head.

•

If the film is inserted the wrong way, the thermal head gets heavily
contaminated, what makes a service intervention necessary.
