Figure 19 SceneVision-3D with color range file
You can only use the
Open File
command with a single file. If you try to open a second file you
will be asked to save the current scene file and a new scene file will be created for the new file.
If you would like to add another file to this scene use the
Insert File
command in the File menu.
You can also add multiple files using
Shift
or
Ctrl
to select the files in the dialog box.
If you wish to save the scene, use the
Save Scene
or
Save Scene As
commands from the File
menu. Note that these actions do not change the data files in the scene, nor do they make copies
of the data files. The scene file created is just a small file that contains links to the data files that
are part of the scene.

Creating Scenes from a Directory
Instead of opening a single file, you can create a scene from any number of files or complete
directories. This is often used to process data of a single scan from a scene that has many scans.
With SceneVision running, select
New Scene
from the File menu. (If you skip this step, you will
be prompted to create a scene file in the next step.) SceneVision-3D will create both a folder for
the new scene and the new scene file. Then, select
Insert Files
or
Insert Directory
from the File
menu. SceneVision will automatically organize the files according to their file types and
according to their folder organization on your system.
Camera Configuration
As image files are loaded you will be asked to specify the camera configuration file. If possible,
do so at this time. If more than one camera was used (or no camera), hit cancel. When you use
an image file in SceneVision you will be asked to specify the camera file at that time.
Note: Accurate measurements and color alignment require having the correct
camera configuration file specified for each image file used. Most current
