Draw & Measure Menu
Draw Measure Line
Draws a line between two points in the data and displays the
distance. After selecting,
Ctrl
-
click
on the first point, move the
cursor and click on the second point.
Draw Perpendicular Line
Draws a perpendicular line between a point and a plane in
model data. After selecting the command, select a plane,
Ctrl
-
click
on any point to draw a perpendicular line from that point
to the plane.
Draw Outline
Draws an outline – connected line segments – in the data. After
selecting,
Ctrl
-
click
on a starting point. Move the cursor and
continue selecting points in the outline. Double click and it will
connect your last point to your first point. (Right click to
complete without connecting the last point and first point.) The
measurements of each segment can optionally be displayed.
Create Planar Region
Primarily used for blood spatter analysis – fits the points in a
selected region to a plane. After selecting,
Ctrl
-click on a
starting point. Move the cursor and continue selecting points in
the outline of the region. Double click and it will connect your
last point to your first point. The function then ‘slices’ the
triangles along the outline of the region, and fits all the points
within the region to a plane.
Create Landmark Point
Identifies a point in the data and creates an annotation. After
selecting,
Ctrl
-click.
Create Viewpoint
Creates a Viewpoint at the point selected in the model. After
selecting,
Ctrl
and click on a point. A ‘view frustum’ will be
drawn at that location.
Create Correspondence Point
(Only available as part of the Range Align or Color Align
operations.) Use to select corresponding points in two range
file (for range alignment) or a range file and an image file (for
color alignment). See sections 9 and 10 for more information.
Create Plane From Points
Creates a plane from 3 points in the data. Select this item and
then, holding
Ctrl
, select 3 points in the data. A plane will be
created and the Annotation Properties window will appear.
Create Plane from Region
Creates a plane (flat surface) fit to a selected region of model or
range data. First use
Select Region
in a flat surface like a floor
or wall. Then choose
Create Plane
from Region.
Create 3D Popup from Region
Creates model data from a selected region in range data or in
aligned image data. First select a region in the data. Then select
Create 3D Popup from Region
. You must save this as a new
file if you want to keep it.
Create Spatter Annotation
Calculates trajectories for blood spatter. This is a multi-step
