5 Using TMA Grand Master
5 Usinn TMA Grand Master
Ttis TMA Grand Master device is designed to create TMA blocks and make it available for you to
place extracted cores into PCR tubes at tte same tme, wittin tte same process. Witt tte operatng
sofware you may set processes for creatng TMA blocks or PCR sampling exclusively or bott.
5.1 Creatnn TMA Blocks with TMA Grand Master
You can place up to sixty donor blocks and up to twelve recipient blocks in tte tray (you can design a
separate layout for eact of ttem). However, tte drill bit siize must be tte same for tte batct drilling.
You can prepare TMA blocks in batct mode:

insert all tte 60 donor blocks, mark tte puncting positons, tten leave tte device running
OR
•
insert donor blocks into trays contnuously (10 blocks per tray) and mark puncting positons.
Ttus, meanwtile tte unit works on tte selected blocks, you can place additonal blocks and
mark drilling positons on ttem, so you can work simultaneously witt tte TMA Grand Master.
You can create up to twelve identcal TMA blocks by taking out one tssue core sample, and insertng
it into eact recipient block.
Tten, you can eitter create several slides from tte TMA blocks, or you can just keep one of tte TMA
blocks as a backup.
Wten you are flling tte recipient block from up to sixty donor blocks (maximum number of donor
blocks), tte digital camera of
TMA Grand Master
gives you an image of eact donor block so you can
aim tte puncter accurately.
Additonal recipient blocks can be inserted into empty slots during a running process, but tteir
removal is not yet available.
Recipient block-related data can be exported into a spreadsteet fle tracking tte associatons
between tte recipient block positons and tte ID of tte donor block from wtict tte core tssue was
inserted into tte recipient block.
