OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Power supply
●
Do not connect the UDMR to electrical outlets which are
also connected to refrigerators, washing machines,
microwave ovens, air conditioners or any other
inverter-controlled products or electrical appliances with
motors. Use of said electrical appliances may cause the
UDMR to malfunction due to power-supply noise, and may
also generate noise. If using a separate electrical outlet
proves difficult, attach a power supply noise filter.
●
Before connecting the UDMR, be sure to turn off the power
supply to all devices to prevent malfunction.
●
Although switching off the power supply will shut down the
UDMR's LCD and LED displays, this does not necessarily
mean that the UDMR is completely isolated from the main
power supply. When it is necessary to shut off the power
completely, remove the power plug from the electrical
outlet after switching off the UDMR. The electrical outlet
should therefore be located as close to the UDMR as
possible, and within immediate reach of the operator.
Setup
●
Operating the UDMR in the vicinity of a television or radio
may cause color irregularities on the television screen and
noise from the radio. If this occurs, use the UDMR at a
distance from these appliances.
●
Operating the UDMR in the vicinity of mobile phones or
other wireless devices may cause noise to emanate from
the UDMR when making/receiving calls or during calls. If
this occurs, distance these devices from the UDMR or turn
them off.
●
Do not leave the UDMR in areas exposed to direct sunlight,
in the vicinity of heat-emitting devices, or inside a vehicle
or other enclosed space. Warping or discoloration may
occur.
●
Moving the UDMR to a location with a significant variation
in temperature and humidity may cause water droplets
(condensation) to form inside the UDMR. Using the UDMR
under these conditions may cause it malfunction so leave it
for a few hours before use to allow the condensation to
evaporate.
●
Depending on the setup conditions (setup surface
materials, temperature etc.), the UDMR's adhesive rubber
pads may cause the surface on which the UDMR is setup
to become discolored or deteriorate.
This can be prevented by placing a material such as felt
under the adhesive pads. Make sure that the material does
not cause the UDMR to move or slip.
Cleaning
●
Regular cleaning of the UDMR can be performed by using
a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or a well-wrung cloth to
wipe off any grime. For hard-to-remove grime, use a cloth
containing a neutral detergent then wipe dry with a soft
cloth.
●
Do not use benzene, thinners or alcohols, as they may
cause warping or discoloration.
Repairs
●
Disassembly or modification of the UDMR by the customer
will void the warranty in terms of subsequent performance,
and may even lead to refusal of repairs.
●
USHIO retains performance components (components
required to maintain the UDMR's performance) for repairs
for six years after discontinuation of manufacture. This
six-year period is the valid repair term. However, it may be
possible to repair the UDMR even after this period has
expired depending on the source of the malfunction so
contact the store where you purchased the unit or the
nearest USHIO office, branch or sales office listed on the
back of this manual.
Other precautions
●
USHIO shall not be liable for the restoration of memory
card data loss, including compensation for said loss.
●
Do not apply excessive force to the UDMR's buttons, dial
or input/output terminals, as doing so may cause damage.
●
Do not press or hit the display with excessive force.
●
Hold the plug when inserting and removing cables to
prevent short circuits or disconnection.
●
The UDMR emits a slight amount of heat but this does not
indicate malfunction.
●
When shipping or moving the UDMR, it should be packed
in its original box and cushioning material or equivalents
thereof.
●
Please abide by municipal refuse sorting standards when
disposing of the UDMR box and cushioning material.
●
Some connection cables have in-built resistance. However,
these cables should not be used to connect the UDMR as
they may interfere with the correct operation of the BPM
function. Contact the cable manufacturer for details on
in-built resistance cable specifications.
