Step 2: Selecting the recording
The phrase recording format can be selected in the record standby mode.
Turn the SELECT dial to 'RECORD: DMX' (for DMX phrase recording) or 'RECORD: MIDI' (for
MIDI phrase recording) and select your desired format.
If you select the DMX format, the remaining recording time is displayed. Alternatively, if you select
the MIDI format, the remaining memory capacity is displayed.
Press the SELECT dial to confirm the phrase recording format and proceed to the advanced
settings screen.
Advanced settings for DMX phrase recording
Once you have selected the 'RECORD: DMX' option, you can then designate the DMX signal
type.

Designates the number of DMX signal frames sampled per second
(frame rate).
The standard frame rate is 40 but you can select 20 if you want to
extend the recording time.
Channels

Designates the number of channels to be recorded.
The standard number of channels is 512 but you can select 256 or
less if you want to extend the recording time.
Trigger
Off; 1 - 512 CH; All
Automatically starts the recording once a signal is received from the
designated DMX channels. Refer to ''Initiating automatic recording
via DMX signal detection ('Trigger Recording')" on page 32 for
details.
* Turn the SELECT dial to change the set value then press the SELECT dial to confirm said value
and move to the next item.
