Memory card
Before using a new memory card or a memory card which has been used with another device, it is
necessary to format the card according to the following method.
Once the formatting is completed, you can designate a name for the memory card (up to eight
alphanumeric characters). This memory card name will automatically be attached to the start of
the phrase name during phrase recording.
Example - Card name: DaveShow
→
DaveShow1
* If no name is allocated, the card will be named 'UDMR'.
Formatting precautions
Formatting the memory card will erase all of its existing data. Please be aware of this point before
formatting.
* The recording time of a single memory card may vary depending on the memory card's storage
capacity and the DMX frame rate. Refer to 'DMX phrase recording capacity' on page 24 for
further details on the supported memory card sizes and their maximum recording times.
* Do not attempt to format the memory card on a PC.
Formatting method
1.
Check that no CompactFlash (CF) cards are inserted in the memory card slots (A/B) then
turn on the power.
2.
Press the MODE button.
The MODE indicator light comes on.
3.
Turn the SELECT dial until '4.1 CARD FORMAT' is displayed.
4. Press the SELECT dial.
5.
Insert the CF card to be formatted into the memory card slot A (or B).
* Make sure that the CF card is facing the right way and is the right way up before fully inserting it
into the card slot. Do not force the card into the slot.
* Inserting an unformatted memory card will cause an error message to be displayed. Press
ENTER to delete the error message then follow the formatting directions as they appear on the
UDMR screen.
