Location of Button Snap Grounding Post
Replacing the Battery
Follow these steps to remove and replace the system battery.

1. Power off the server as described in
“Powering Off the Server” on page 28
.
2. If the server is in a rack, slide it far enough from the rack so that you can
remove the cover. If you cannot safely view and access the component, remove
the server from the rack.
3. Remove the cover of the assembly as described in
“Removing the Top Cover”
on page 33
.
Note –
Record the orientation (polarity) of the battery in its holder before you
remove it. The positive polarity, marked with a “+” symbol, should be facing toward
the chassis center.
