The figure below shows the major parts of a

Type III

bearing scanner.

To replace a

Type II/Type III

bearing scanner cover-and-module assembly:

Be sure that you have on hand a new scanner cover-and-module assembly.

Be sure that you have on hand a T-handle 1/4-inch hex-wrench.

Turn off all power to the scanners.

Using a T-handle 1/4-inch hex-wrench, loosen the socket-head-cap screws on the
cover of the bearing scanner.

The

Type II

bearing scanner has two socket-head-cap screws that attach the weather

cover to the mount.

The

Type III

bearing scanner has six. Four that attach the weather cover to the

mounting plate and two that attach the mounting plate to the mount.
