The AEI setting toggles between enabled (YES) and disabled (NO). The AEI
option on the Equipment submenu changes. The Equipment submenu reappears.

12 To set or change the sliding-wheel setting:
The Equipment submenu shows whether Sliding Wheel detection is enabled (YES) or
disabled (NO). In order for Sliding Wheel alarms to be processed, both the Hotwheel
option and the Sliding Wheel option on the Equipment submenu must be enabled. The
Sliding Wheel function requires that bearing and wheel scanners be installed and in
operation at a site. The Sliding Wheel detection algorithm is intended to be used
where trains travel down a long grade before reaching the site. The algorithm
calculates average wheel and bearing heat per train side and per car and attempts to
isolate those axles that have extremely low bearing and wheel temperatures.
