To set or change the

cold-journal value

:

The number after the words Cold Journal (on the Alarm Limits submenu) is an offset in
degrees Fahrenheit above the ambient temperature. This value pertains to post-train
examination of the maximum heats recorded by the bearing scanners. When no
bearing on a given rail generates a delta temperature reading greater than this value,
the system generates a Cold Rail alarm for the given rail.
