*) Feeding in the external trigger signal via the BNC connector EXT TRIG IN is equiva-
lent. The minimum pulse width of the trigger signals is 1
µ
s.
EMI Suppression
Use only double shielded cables or disconnect the input pins of the USER PORT con-
nector in order to avoid spurious input signals which may cause undesirable events.
10.2.1.2
USB
Double Universal Serial Bus connector of type A (master USB), used to connect e.g a
keyboard, mouse or other pointing devices, the Calibration Unit (accessory R&S ZV-
Z5x), a printer or external storage devices (USB stick, CD-ROM drive etc.).
USB Connection
The length of passive connecting USB cables should not exceed 1 m. The maximum
current per USB port is 500 mA. See also
Chapter 3.1.5, "EMI Suppression"
10.2.1.3
EXT TRIG IN
BNC female connector for external trigger input; see
"FreeRun / External / Manual /
on page 401. The external trigger input signal must be a 3.3 V or 5 V
TTL signal with a minimum pulse width of 1
µ
s. The trigger input has a high input impe-
dance (> 10 k
Ω
).
Trigger cables
Be aware that long trigger cables may cause signal reflections. Notice the instruction in

10.2.1.4
EXT TRIG OUT
BNC female connectors for external trigger output; see
The R&S
ZNB/ZNBT trigger output provides a configurable 5 V TTL trigger signal. The
output impedance is approximately 50 Ohm.
