5 Follow the instructions on-screen.
• Make su r e the mic r o p hone is connected.
• Make su r e the subwoofe r is on and the
volume is tu r ned u p .
• See below fo r notes r ega r ding backg r ound
noise and othe r p ossible inte r fe r ence.
6 Wait for the test tones to finish.
A pr og r ess r e p o r t is dis p layed on-sc r een while
the r eceive r out p uts test tones to dete r mine the
s p eake r s pr esent in you r setu p . T r y to be as
quiet as p ossible while it’s doing this.
• Fo r co rr ect s p eake r settings, do not adjust
the volume du r ing the test tones.
7 Confirm the speaker configuration.
The configu r ation shown on-sc r een should
r eflect the actual s p eake r s you have.
• With e rr o r messages (such as
Too much
ambient noise
) select
RETRY
afte r
checking fo r ambient noise (see Other
p roblems when using the Auto MCACC
Setu p on p age 10).
If the s p eake r configu r ation dis p layed isn’t
co rr ect, use
/
to select the s p eake r and
/
to change the setting. When you’ r e
finished, go to the next ste p .
If you see an e rr o r message (
ERR
) in the r ight
side column, the r e may be a pr oblem with the
s p eake r connection. If selecting
RETRY
doesn’t fix the pr oblem, tu r n off the p owe r and
check the s p eake r connections.
8 Make sure ‘OK’ is selected, then press
ENTER.
If the sc r een in ste p 7 is left untouched fo r 10
seconds and the
ENTER
button is not pr essed
in ste p 8, the Auto MCACC setu p will sta r t
automatically as shown below.

Again, t r y to be as quiet as p ossible while this
is ha pp ening. It may take 1 to 3 minutes.
9 The Auto MCACC Setup has finished!
You return to the System Setup menu.
The settings made in the Auto MCACC Setu p
should give you excellent su rr ound sound
f r om you r system, but it is also p ossible to
adjust these settings manually using the
System Setu
p menu (sta r ting on p age 41).

• The subwoofe r distance setting may be fa r the r than the actual distance f r om the listening p osition. This setting should be
accu r ate (taking delay and r oom cha r acte r istics into account) and gene r ally does not need to be changed.
