Subwoofer
– LFE signals and bass

selected (see notes below). Choose the
PLUS
setting if you want the subwoofe r to out p ut
bass sound continuously o r you want dee p e r
bass (the bass f r equencies that would
no r mally come out the f r ont and cente r
s p eake r s a r e also r outed to the subwoofe r ). If
you did not connect a subwoofe r choose
NO
(the bass f r equencies a
r e out p ut f r om othe r
s p eake r s).
3 When you’re finished, press RETURN.
You r etu r n to the Manual SP Setu p menu.
Tip
• If you have a subwoofe r and like lots of
bass, it may seem logical to select
LARGE
fo r you r f r ont s p eake r s and
PLUS
fo r the
subwoofe r . This may not, howeve r , yield the
best bass r esults. De p ending on the
s p eake r p lacement of you r r oom you may
actually ex p e r ience a dec r ease in the
amount of bass due to low f r equency
cancellations. In this case, t r y changing
the p osition o r di r ection of s p eake r s. If you
can’t get good r esults, listen to the bass
r es p onse with it set to
PLUS
and
YES
o r the
f r ont s p eake r s set to
LARGE
and
SMALL
alte r natively and let you r ea r s judge which
sounds best. If you’ r e having pr oblems, the
easiest o p tion is to r oute all the bass
sounds to the subwoofe r by selecting
SMALL
fo r the f r ont s p eake r s.
Crossover Network
• Default setting:
100Hz
This setting decides the cutoff between bass
sounds
p laying back f r om the s p eake r s
selected as
LARGE
, o r the subwoofe r , and
bass sounds p laying back f r om those selected
as
SMALL
. It also decides whe r e the cutoff will
be fo r bass sounds in the LFE channel.

1 Select ‘Crossover Network’ from the
Manual SP Setup menu.
2 Choose the frequency cutoff point.
F r equencies below the cutoff p oint will be sent
to the subwoofe r (o r
LARGE
s p eake r s).
3 When you’re finished, press RETURN.

Channel Level
Using the channel level settings, you can
adjust the ove
r all balance of you r s p eake r
system, an im p o r tant facto r when setting u p a
home theate r system.
1 Select ‘Channel Level’ from the Manual
SP Setup menu.

, the su rr ound back s p eake r s will automatically be set to
NO
.
• If you select one su rr ound back s p eake r only, make su r e that additional am p lifie r is hooked u p to the
PRE OUT SURROUND
