Listening in stereo
When you select
STEREO
you will hea r the
sou r ce th r ough just the f r ont left and r ight
s p eake r s (and p ossibly you r subwoofe r
de p ending on you r s p eake r settings). Dolby
Digital and DTS multichannel sou r ces a r e
downmixed to ste r eo.
In the Auto level cont r ol ste r eo mode (A.L.C.),
this unit equalizes p layback sound levels if
each sound level va r ies with the music sou r ce
r eco r ded in a p o r table audio p laye r .
• While listening to a source, press
STEREO/A.L.C. for stereo playback.
P r ess r e p eatedly to switch between:

STEREO
– The audio is hea r d with you r
su rr ound settings and you can still use the
Midnight, Loudness, Phase Cont r ol, Sound
Ret r ieve r and Tone functions.

– Listening in Auto level cont r ol
ste r eo mode.

The F r ont Stage Su rr ound Advance function
allows you to c r eate natu r al su rr ound sound
effects using just the f r ont s p eake r s and the

Surround Advance modes.
