Return oil utilization EXP /EXS
PALFINGER loading cranes are equipped with a hydraulic return oil utilization system that is activated
during normal operation. This increases the extending speed of the actuator system to the retraction
speed, meaning that the booms move at the same speed in both directions.
However, the extending force of the cylinders is reduced, meaning that it may not be possible to extend
the nominal load in certain situations.
This function can be disabled and re-enabled if necessary by pressing the EXP / EXS button.
The maximum actuating force of the boom can therefore be used again.
Left position: Extension power (EXP) = Oil recovery off
Right position: Extension speed (EXS) = Oil recovery on
Warning horn
Cranes that are operated by radio remote control and/or have a range of more than 12 meters must be
equipped with a warning horn in the EU and certain other countries. This means that people that are
about to enter the working area / danger zone can be warned of the danger.

Acoustic alarm
The acoustic alarm (a signal the operator can hear) gets activated:
x whenever an error or information message is issued.
x If a load limit reaches the 90% value, an acoustic warning is activated. It can be deactivated by
pressing either the horn or the OLP button on the operating stand.
x If the crane reaches the 100% capacity limit it is overloaded, an acoustic warning sounds which
cannot be confirmed. You may perform only those crane movements that reduce the load moment.
