Entering Text Using 2-Touch Input
You can enter 1 character by pressing 2 dial keys.
For example, to enter “
う ”, press

sequence as “ う ” is the third character of the “ あ
column”, “ あいうえお ”

touch input” (P.364) for details on the character
assignment.

Entering Text Using T9 Input
You can enter a character with fewer key operations
(1 time for 1 character) and select the character you
want from the conversion candidates.
For example, when you want to enter “
春 ”, press

for “ は column", press
9
for “ ら column",
then select “ 春 ” from the displayed conversion
candidates.

To assist T9 input, you can use “Yomi edit” function to
correct the reading when the conversion candidates
do not have the character you want, and “Fixed
mode” function to enter correct reading when
entering text.
● Refer to “Characters that can be entered using T9
input” (P.365) for details on the character assignment.
●
You can use T9 input only when the input mode is
“Kanji/hiragana (Full-pitch)”, “Katakana (Full-pitch)”,
“Katakana (Half-pitch)”, “Alphabetic (Full-pitch)”,
“Alphabetic (Half-pitch)”. When the input mode is
“Numeric (Full-pitch)” or “Numeric (Half pitch)”, the
text entry mode is automatically set to “5-touch input”.
