Enabling the Tone to Ring through the Earphones and Speaker
You can set the FOMA terminal to play the ring tone or alarm notification through the earphones and speaker
when an earphone/microphone with switch (optional) is connected.
● The setting of this function is applied for the ring tone for the voice phone/videophone/receiving mail and alarm
notification tone (melodies played from the Data box do not sound through the speaker).

Switching Off the FOMA Terminal’s Tone
You can set the FOMA terminal not to play the ring tones or keypad tones through the speaker with a single
key operation.
● When the FOMA terminal is in Manner mode, the following tones are replaced by vibrations:
・ Ring tone

・ Alarm clock

, schedule, ToDo and Notify cost limit alarm tones

Missed call/new mail confirmation tones when the FOMA terminal is folded
*1: The FOMA terminal vibrates in the pattern set in “Vibrator”. If “Vibrator” is set to “OFF”, the FOMA terminal vibrates in “Pattern
2”.
*2: When “Alarm stop setting” is set to “Stop by shaking”, the vibrator is not activated.
*3: The FOMA terminal vibrates in the pattern set in “Phone” in “Vibrator”. If “Vibrator” is set to “OFF”, the FOMA terminal vibrates in
“Pattern 2”.
● In “Manner mode set”, you can select “Manner mode/Super silent/Original” as the FOMA terminal operation mode
when Manner mode is set.

The FOMA terminal is set to Manner mode and “ ” appears on the screen.
During a call, the FOMA terminal emits a short double-beep (“bibip”) and a message appears
notifying you that Manner mode is now set.
As well as “ ”, the information specified in “Manner mode set” is displayed when the FOMA
terminal is in Manner mode.
: The FOMA terminal notifies you using “Vibrator”
, , : “Ring volume” is set to “Silent”
~ : “Record msg.” is set to record messages (The number indicates the number of
record messages)

Manner mode is canceled and “ ” disappears.
During a call, the FOMA terminal emits a short double-beep (“bibip”) and a message
appears notifying you that Manner mode is no longer set.

Even when this function is set to “Earp. (Speaker in 20s)” or “Earphone (only)”, the sound comes through the speaker if no earphone/
microphone is connected. In addition, the shutter sound of the camera, etc. sounds through the speaker even when an earphone/
microphone is connected.

When set to “Earp. (Speaker in 20s)”, the ring tone or alarm notification sounds through both earphones and speaker after about 20
seconds.
z
Do not wrap the FOMA terminal with the cord for the earphone/microphone with switch. Note also that leaving the cord for the
earphone/microphone with switch near the FOMA terminal during a call may cause interference (noise).

Even when the FOMA terminal is in Manner mode, the FOMA terminal still plays the shutter sound when you take a picture with the
FOMA terminal’s camera.
