Checking for Messages
Default setting Check for all (Mail, Message R/F)
The messages that the FOMA terminal could not
receive are kept at the i-mode Center. You can
receive the kept messages by checking for
messages.
● The messages are kept at the i-mode Center in the
following situation:
・
When the FOMA terminal is turned off
・
When “ ” is displayed
・
When the message boxes are full
・
During a videophone call or remote observation
・
When Self mode is set
・
When connecting to the FirstPass Center
●
You cannot check for messages when “ ” is
displayed.
● Use “Set check new message” (P.240) to specify
which items are checked for.

The check new message screen appears.
You can also check new messages by following
procedures below.

The FOMA terminal checks for “Mail”
→
“Message R”
→ “Message F”.
The “ ”, “ ” and “ ” icons flash during checking,
and the “Checking...” message appears on the screen.
The FOMA terminal then downloads your i-mode mail
and Message R/F.
The numbers of the newly received i-mode mails or
Message R/F are displayed.
■ To cancel the inquiry

When you cancel an inquiry, depending on the
timing of the cancellation you may still receive the
i-mode mail, Messages R/F.

When the “ ” or “ ” icon appears, there is a Message R/
F kept for you at the i-mode Center. Once the space allotted at
the i-mode Center for keeping your Message R/F is full, the
“
(red)” or “ (red)” icon appears.

The table below shows the maximum number of Message R/F
that can be kept at the i-mode Center and the maximum
storage period.
Once the maximum number of stored messages is reached,
messages are deleted as a new message arrives, starting
with the oldest message.
z
Even if a Message R/F is stored at the i-mode Center, the
“ ” or “ ” may not be displayed if the FOMA terminal is
turned off, or if “ ” is displayed.

Buttons such as “OK” and “Cancel” may appear in a Message
R/F. In such cases, the buttons can be used in the same way
as buttons in a site.
