Setting a host different from i-mode host

You need to select a different host when you want to
use a service other than i-mode. If you change the
host to a host other than i-mode, you can not use
i-mode or i-mode mail.

You can store up to 10 hosts other than “i-mode”.

Specifying whether to use terminal data in
Flash movies <Use phone information>
Use this function to specify whether terminal data is
used when a Flash movie is running.
●
The terminal data may be used depending on the
particular Flash movie. To enable Flash movies to
use the terminal data, set “YES” in “Use phone
information”. The default setting is “YES”. Such
movies may use the following types of terminal data:

Battery Level
・
Ring volume setting
・
Reception Level
・
Bilingual Settings
・
Date and time
・
Model information

When You Receive a Message
When the FOMA terminal is in a service area,
Message R/F are automatically sent to the FOMA
terminal from the i-mode Center.
●
The FOMA terminal will save up to 100 received
Message R/F respectively. However, the number that
can actually be saved varies between 20 and 100 for
Message R and between 10 and 100 Message F
depending on the amount of data in each saved
message.
Displaying new messages automatically

You can set the FOMA terminal to display the
detail screen of Message R/F automatically with
“Message auto display” (P.196).

receiving a message and the “Reception result
screen” appears when the reception is finished.

when the reception is finished.

However, a message may be received depending on
the timing of the cancellation.

on the reception result screen, the message list

You cannot change your i-mode host while you are using
i-mode. End the i-mode before changing the host.

Note that costs of packet communication while you are
connected to a host other than i-mode are not covered by the
“Pake-Houdai” deal.

To change a stored “User defined host”, use the same
procedure for storing.
z
To delete a stored “User defined host”, select a host you want
to delete, select “Delete” from the function menu, enter the
security code and select “YES”. If the deleted host was set as
the host to connect, it returns to “i-mode”.
z
If you use a different FOMA card (UIM) from that used when
the host was stored, the host may revert to “i-mode”.
z
When you change the host, the telop of i-channel is turned off.
The telop is turned on again automatically when the
information is updated automatically or when

is pressed to
receive the latest information.
z
After changing the host, the i-channel information may not be
updated automatically. To receive the latest information, press
u
to display the channel list screen.
