● The duration for displaying the reception result
screen may vary depending on the “Mail/Msg.
ring time” (P.117) setting.

The “Detail screen” of Message R/F is displayed
automatically when the message is received
while the standby screen is displayed. However,
if the standby screen is retrieved from the Task
menu while any of the menu functions is being
used, the detail screen is not displayed
automatically.

If no operation is performed for about 15
seconds while the detail screen is displayed, the
standby screen reappears. However, if you use
operations such as scrolling, the detail screen
continues to be displayed.
How to view the Message R/F screens

When a new Message R/F arrives, the FOMA terminal
receives the message together with any Message R/F or
i-mode mail kept at the i-mode Center.

Received Message R/F are not automatically displayed if PIM
lock or All lock is set, if Public mode (Driving mode) is set, if
an i-

ppli is running, or if the current screen is not the standby
screen.
z
If the data storage capacity of the FOMA terminal is full when
you receive a message, the message overwrites from the
oldest read message. Unread or protected messages are not
overwritten.
z
If the data storage capacity of the FOMA terminal is full of
unread or protected messages, the following icons are
displayed.
(red) / (red) :Displayed when the FOMA terminal
cannot receive Message R/F because of the lack of the data
storage capacity.
/ :Displayed when Message R/F are kept at the
i-mode Center.
(red) / (red) :Displayed when the data storage
capacity for Message R/F at the i-mode Center is full.
If these icons are displayed, you can receive a new message
by deleting unwanted messages or reading unread mail. Also
releasing protect (P.200) enables you to receive a new
message.

After automatic display, messages are still marked as unread
in the Message R/F list screen. However, if you use an
operation such as scrolling the screen while a message is
being automatically displayed, the message is then marked
as read in the Message R/F list screen.
z
When you receive multiple items of i-mode mail, SMS, chat
mail and Message R/F at the same time, the FOMA terminal
uses the ring tone and incoming call lamp flashing pattern
that are set for chat mail.

If you receive a Message R/F when a screen other than the
standby screen is displayed and “Operation preferred” is
selected in “Receiving display” (P.238), the FOMA terminal
does not ring. When “Alarm preferred” is selected, the FOMA
terminal plays the ring tone and displays the reception results
screen.
