Setting the Alarm Mode
Default setting
Alarm preferred
You can select either “Operation preferred” or “Alarm
preferred” as the alarm notification setting for “Alarm
clock”, “Schedule” and “ToDo”.

“Clock” “Alarm

“Alarm preferred”
When you set to “Operation preferred”, alarm is used
only when the standby screen is displayed.
When you set to “Alarm preferred”, alarm is used even
when performing operations on the FOMA terminal or
when talking.
Alarm notification actions

When you set an alarm
When you set an “Alarm clock”, “Schedule” or
“ToDo” alarm, an icon appears on the standby
screen.

An alarm set for today (excluding times that
have already passed)
The “
” icon is displayed.
■
An alarm set for tomorrow or later
The “
” icon is displayed.
●
When the specified time is reached
The different alarms notify you as shown in Table 1
(P.310).
●
When the alarm tone sounds in the notification action
of Table 1, aqua illumination lamps flash in the same
way as “Pattern 1” of “Illumination in talk”.
●
If an i-motion is set to the alarm tone, the image and
sound will be played at the alarm notification time.

selected icon and category.

To stop the alarm tone
■
Alarm clock alarm tone
This operation varies as described in table 2
(P.310) depending on “Alarm stop setting” and
“Snooze setting” of the alarm clock.
■
Schedule and ToDo alarm tones
Pressing any key stops the alarm tone, freezes
the animation or i-motion and displays the alarm
message. Pressing any key again clears the
alarm message. However, if you press the side
keys when the FOMA terminal is folded, the alarm
notification display is not cleared.
■
If you receive a call during alarm notification
Alarm notification stops and the FOMA terminal
receives the call. The “Alarm clock” snooze
setting is also canceled.

The volume of the “Schedule” and “ToDo” alarms is
determined by the “Phone” setting in “Ring volume”.
z
The Clock Alarm Tone volume during a call is the same as
that specified in “Volume”.
z
The alarm clock alarm tone during a call is not played in
Snooze even when it is set to “Snooze ON”.
z
The vibrator is also activated under the following settings:
・
When “Phone” in “Vibrator” is set to the setting other than
“OFF”
・
When “Manner mode” is set
・
When “Vibrator” in “Original” is set to “ON”
* However, when “Alarm stop setting” is set to “Stop by
shaking”, the vibrator is not activated.

If “Display” in “Clock display” is set to “OFF”, or if the
Schedule or ToDo entry is stored with “OFF” selected, no icon
is displayed in the standby screen.
z
Even if you have set an i-motion in the “Alarm tone” setting,
i-motion is not played when i-motion cannot be activated such
as during a call, the alarm notifies you with the “Clock Alarm
Tone” and the animation for the specified icon and category.

If “Alarm clock”, “Schedule” or “ToDo” alarms are set at the
same time, alarm priority is assigned as follows:

If alarm notification is failed, the “

Snooze is canceled in the following cases:
・
When you receive a voice call or videophone call
・
When you receive Alarm clock, Schedule or ToDo alarm
and “Alarm preferred” is selected in “Alarm setting”
z
If “Keypad sound” is set to “OFF”, the release tone does not
sound.
