Installation Preparations

MyPower S6600 Series Routing Switch Installation Manual

�

The network port surge protector is not provided with the switch and the user

can select as desired.

�

The network port surge protector is just for the Ethernet port of

10/100/1000M electrical interface (adopt the RJ45 connector).

�

The user manual of the network port surge protector contains the technical

parameters of the surge protector and the installation and maintenance

description of the surge protector. Please read the manual carefully in the

actual installation.

�

Prevent the network port surge protector from being connected reversely. “IN”

is connected to the external cable and “OUT” is connected to the switch

network port.

�

Avoid that the network port surge protector is not well grounded. When

installing the ground wire of the surge protector, the ground wire should be as

short as possible, so as to ensure that it can be well contacted with the ground

terminal of the switch. After connection, use the multimeter to confirm.

�

Avoid that the network port surge protector is not installed completely. When

the switch is inter-connected to other switches and there are no more than one

cable external network ports, you need to install the surge protector for all

cable external network ports for protection.

Considering the lightening protection requirement of the switch, it is

recommended that the AC power of the switch reaches the better lightening

protection effect via the external lightening equipment.

�

Before connecting the power cable, confirm that the power switch is OFF (only

for the pluggable power).
