MyPower S6600 Series Routing Switch Installation Manual

Installation Preparations

When using the power surge protector, ensure that the PE terminal is

grounded.

�

After inserting the AC power plug of the switch into the socket of the power

surge protector (lightning connector bar), only the green light indicating

running on the power surge protector is on. When there is no red light for

alarming, regard that the lightning protection is realized.

�

When there is red light for alarming on the power surge protector, pay much

attention and process it. Confirm whether Fire (L), zero (N), ground (PE) wires

are connected correctly. After confirming that the PE connection is correct, you

can detect via the following method: Switch the multimeter to AC, test

whether the voltage between N and PE is smaller than or equal to 5V, and the

voltage between L and PE is about 220V. If not, indicate that the fire wire and

zero wire are connected reversely.

If there is outdoor network cable connected to the switch when using the switch,

it is suggested to connect the network port surge protector in series first before

the network cable is connected to the switch interface, so as to reduce the

probability of damaging the switch caused by the lightning.

The steps of installing the network port surge protector:

Step 1:

According to the distance of the switch ground terminal or the lightning grounding cooper

bar of the machine room, shorten the ground wire of the network port surge protector, and

tighten the ground wire of the network port surge protector to the ground terminal of the

switch or the lightning grounding cooper bar of the machine room tightly.

Step 2:

Use the multimeter to measure whether the ground wire of the surge protector is well

contacted with the ground terminal of the switch or the lightning grounding cooper bar of

the machine room.

Step 3:

According to the description in the user manual of the network port surge protector, connect

the network port surge protector via the network port transit cable (pay attention to the

direction: connect the external cable to the IN end and connect the transit cable connected

to the switch to the OUT end). Meanwhile, check whether the display of the board indicator

is normal.

Step 4:

Use the cable tie to bind up the cables.
