4.1.3
Functional Description
The MCC can be used independently, without any expansion modules, as a standalone burner
sequencer for gaseous and liquid fuels. The on-board I/O is sufficient for basic burner control
components such as fuel isolation valves, air pressure switch etc. Burner control components
are defined in the CMS I/O matrix. In addition to standard digital inputs and outputs an input
is provided for LAMTEC dedicated FFS07 and FFS08 flame sensors as well as the option for
ionisation input - all without the need for a separate continuous pilot burner flame relay. There
is an analogue input to accept a 4-20mA firing rate signal from an external source and an an-
alogue output to drive a 4-20mA third-party motor for burner modulation using standard me-
chanical linkages. A three-point step motor, with potentiometer feedback is also available as
an control output option. The MCC can be configured and commissioned for each application
using either one of the CMS HMI touch screen panel options or using the PC-based CMS con-
figuration software.
The analogue inputs of the CMS (MCC or SAI) can be used as digital signals. To do so, the
IO configuration must be set as in chapter
