System Description
Range monitoring is used to check the actual positions reported by the actuators. If these po-
sitions deviate too far and too long from the internally calculated setpoints, a safety shut-down
is initiated.
The following values are used to calculate the setpoints:
•
Curve sets stored in the EEPROM
•
Correction values received
•
External firing rate received
•
Internal firing rate - actual value
•
Parameters
•
Recirculation channel release
Internal validation requires that the feedback from each active control element must change
by a minimum amount at least once every 24 hours. If there has been no change within a 24
hour period then a change of output is initiated and the feedback checked. If the feedback
does not reflect the change of the output then an internal fault shutdown is initiated and cor-
responding alarm generated.
Fault history
The fault history shows the last 10 faults with fault number, fault text, affected module, curve
set, date, time of day, operating conditions, firing rate, setpoints and actual values. In addition,
the state of the existing inputs and outputs is shown as a time sequence. A detailed descrip-
tion of the CMS remote software is provided in the chapter
7.3 Operation, Controls and Dis-
Interfaces
The CMS is equipped with an Ethernet interface for PC communication. Windows-based soft-
ware can be supplied optionally.
A Modbus TCP protocol can also be operated over the same hardware interface.
The CMS is compatible with other LAMTEC system components such as the range of LT ox-
ygen and CO
e
flue gas analysers for oxygen trim and CO Control. Communications with these
devices is via the LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS (LSB).
Optional interface modules for PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET and Modbus RTU are available
(partly under development), further modules on request.
