REMOVING THE ELECTRONICS ASSEMBLY
Note: The electronics assembly contains the MCU PWA, which is device specific and
cannot be replaced by a new electronics assembly. If the electronics assembly is
damaged,
contact ICU Medical .
Note: This procedure is intended to facilitate other repairs only.
Recommended tools and materials for this procedure are a 1/4 inch nutdriver
and mild solvent.
Replacement parts for this procedure are:
Pad, Foam
Screw, 6-32 x 5/16, Hex Head, with Washer
To remove the electronics assembly, see
Figure 7-6
and
Figure 7-11
, and proceed
as follows:
1. Disconnect the infuser from AC power.
2. Separate the front and rear enclosures as described in Section 7.2.2 .
3. Remove the barcode reader as described in Section 7.3.8.15 .
4. Remove the door latch assembly as described in
Section 7.3.8.6
.
5. Remove the CE PWA as described in
Section 7.3.8.9
.
6. Grasp the ribbon connector locking tabs from J10 and J11. Pull up to disengage,
and disconnect the ribbon cables from the MCU PWA.
7. Disconnect P13, P16, and P18 from the MCU PWA.
8. Using the nutdriver, remove the three 6-32 hex screws that secure the electronics
assembly to the front enclosure assembly.
9. Remove the electronics assembly from the front enclosure assembly by pulling
the bottom of the MCU PWA up and out.
10. Inspect the two foam pads in the front enclosure assembly. If they appear damaged,
replace them, removing any residue with mild solvent.
11. Reinstall the electronics assembly in the exact reverse order of removal.
Note:
Verify all connectors are fully seated before the front and rear enclosures
are closed and fastened.
12. Reassemble the infuser in the exact reverse order of disassembly.
To verify successful installation of the electronics assembly, perform the PVT
in
Section 5.6
