5.2 CLEANING

2. Carefully handle the cradle release mechanism to prevent fluid ingress during
cleaning.
Note: Do not allow fluid into any openings in the infuser's case.

3. Turn the infuser upright and open the vial compartment door.
4. Clean the barcode reader window.
- Use recommended CleanTex CT 811 OpticPad Optic Surface Cleaner or a soft,
lint-free cloth moistened with a streak-free optical glass cleaner for cleaning and
wipe until visibly clean.
- To avoid fluid ingress, do not spray fluids or cleaning solutions on the barcode
reader window, and press lightly on the barcode reader window while cleaning.
5. Using swabs, carefully clean cradle release mechanism, vial cradle, vial cradle clips,
and injector flange retainer, including the vial and injector sensor pins, without
tilting the infuser backwards. See highlighted region in
Figure 5-5 .
Note: If a sensor pin is damaged or broken off, replace the infusion mechanism
assembly ( see Section 7.3.8.14 ) .
6. Using lint-free cloths dampened in the approved cleaning solution or wipes (see
Table 5-1
),clean the interior surface of the vial compartment.
7. Use a brush to remove debris and then moist swabs to clean any openings or hard
to reach areas.
