FUSE INFORMATION
Instead of the fuse replacement part specified in Section 7.3.9.1, Fuse Replacement and
listed as item 37 in Table 9-1 , the following applies:
Fuse, 0.5 A, 250 V, Slo-Blo
Note: The replacement procedures provided in Section 7.3.9.1, Fuse Replacement
still apply. The only difference for an upgraded pump is the replacement
part.

OCCLUSION TEST
Instead of the instructions referenced in
Section 5.6.7, Occlusion Test
, perform the test
as described below.
Note: To perform the occlusion test as a stand-alone test, use setup Steps
1 through 25 in
Section 5.6.6
.
Note: Ensure that performance testing for occlusion pressure uses either only
new vials or vials that are not stored with water in them.
Note: Ensure that the infuser and DPM are at the same height to obtain accurate
readings on the DPM.
To perform the occlusion test, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the distal end of the LifeCare PCA set to the DPM through a three-way
stopcock. Set the three-way stopcock to air.
2. Verify the DPM reads zero.
3. Verify the
PRESS START BUTTON TO INFUSE
message displays, then press
[START/
PAUSE]
.
4. Verify fluid discharge at the end of the stopcock, then close the stopcock.
5. Verify the infuser sounds an alarm and displays
OCCLUSION
above a message with
instructions for clearing the alarm.
6. Press the
[START/PAUSE]
touchswitch and verify the DPM reads 15.0 +/- 5.0 psi.
7. Open the stopcock to clear the occlusion alarm.
8. Remove the vial from the infuser, then press
[ON/OFF]
to power off the infuser.

, follow the instructions provided in the sections below.
The recommended tools and materials for the following procedures are a No. 0 Phillips
screwdriver, water-filled syringe, DPM, three-way stopcock, and an IV administration set.
