Other Problems
This section describes what to do if you have other problems. Such as, your application
software does not work, or you forgot your passwords, or you can't start SETUP, or you can't
change the PC's configuration in SETUP, or the date and time are incorrect.
If Your Application Software Does Not Work
If the PC reports no errors, but some software won't run, and the indicator light next to the
power switch displays GREEN:
1. Check to see if the AUTOEXEC.BAT file is present with the correct settings. (Refer to
the operating system and application software manuals.)
2. If you are using copy-protected applications or speed-sensitive applications, you may
need to turn
Memory Cache
Off
in SETUP. (Refer to “Configuring Your PC”.)
Memory Cache copies a portion of the PC's memory into very high speed memory (or
cache). This allows the processor to access frequently used pieces of information more
quickly.
3. If Windows does not run properly, refer to the Windows manual for guidance.
4. If the network connection does not work properly, contact your Network Administrator.
5. If you have changed your PC's hardware, ensure your software's Run command and
working directory are correctly set.
6. Exit from Windows. Run MemMaker from the MS-DOS prompt and follow the
instructions on the screen. This MS-DOS utility optimizes your PC's memory, increasing
the amount of conventional memory available to your applications.
