After installing the device drivers, run MemMaker from within MS-DOS and follow the
instructions on the screen. This optimizes the PC's memory, increasing the amount of
conventional memory available to your applications.
To check your installation, click on the ShowSCSI icon in Windows.
For information on how the integrated SCSI interface must be configured, refer to
“Configuring Your PC.”
Cabling for an internal SCSI device:
1. Read any documentation provided with the optional SCSI device.
2. Make sure the device has no terminating resistor. HP SCSI accessories for your PC are
shipped with their terminating resistors disabled. For non-HP devices, make sure that
the terminating resistor is removed.
NOTE
Never modify the terminating resistor at the end of the cable.
3. Connect the device to any available connector on the SCSI cable.

Cabling for an external SCSI device:
1. Contact your dealer for HP shielded cables to connect external SCSI devices. Your PC
has a high density (small) external SCSI connector.
2. Read the documentation provided with the optional SCSI device.
3. Using an external SCSI cable, connect your PC's external SCSI connector to the SCSI
input connector on the device. The SCSI output connector of the device connects either
to the next SCSI device or to a terminating resistor.
4. Make sure the last external SCSI device in the chain is terminated correctly. (Refer to
the manual for the SCSI device.)
